p1247-00 turbocharger boost pressure low

This is my first post on any forum to date, I have often used this site in the past in my repairs and would like to thank you all for being legends and helping others!

Now for my reason for posting.

I purchased a basket case D4 6 weeks ago.
Long story short, Had the bottom end rebuilt and is now in the vehicle and running
However I have a p1247-00 fault code that I just cannot get to the bottom of

It’s a very strange problem that I have because it only happens when I’m cruising And is some what intermittent, If I pull away primary turbo kicks in at 1200 and pulls through to 2500 ish and secondary takes over
Occasionally the primary turbo won’t boost until 1800 rpm sluggish to pull away
Then I get the dreaded RP light or If I’m on the dual carriageway and sit the revs at 1200-1300 I can get the vehicle to go into RP

I’ve tried to data log the car to the best of my abilities and cannot see anything obvious

I had both the turbos rebuilt while the engine was out

I will list below what I have done to date

Removed TSOV cleaned (Wasn’t seized)
Checked actuator and vac lines to TSOV
Smoke tested inlets all ok
Dpf regeneration, Was 30gs now clear
Blanked egr for testing purposes
Cleaned MAP and MAF sensors and swapped with known good ones
Checked all vacuum pipes, Found accumulator split (replaced)
Removed vacuum actuator from secondary turbo, Checked and refitted

I’m sure there is probably something simple I am overlooking

Please please someone help me out so I can give the car to the wife and get o. With my life Bow down Bow down

Thanks for Replying, I will get it up in the air later today and check out the crossover pipe

I have blanked the egr between the valve and inlet pipe so theoretically I could have a blow between exhaust manifold and egr valve.

Either jobs do not sound fun with the body back on

Will reply later with my findings

Thanks

Me Again, Pulled the crossover pipe off this afternoon and checked.. Unfortunately or Fortunately it’s in tact.
No splits, Even smoke tested it. All good.
Checked the EGR pipes too, All good

Any other ideas? Bow down

Me again, Still struggling with the issue on my D4
After a few more hours messing around I’ve found that the airflow to the second turbo is non existent, Even with the revs raised. The valve on the back of the secondary turbo that diverts the exhaust gasses to flow through the turbo isn’t opening hence the low airflow.
I’ve opened the valve with a mitivac gun and immediately get a reading from airflow on secondary turbo
Ive also replaced the solenoid that opens the turbo and still no joy

I’m in the process of checking the wiring to the solenoid but struggling to find a wiring diagram on the sensor, I seem to have around 8v on both the wires to the sensor with it unplugged? I’m not an expert but I’m sure that isn’t right
Also has anyone got a diagram for the vacuum pipes as I want to check that I haven’t got something wrong with the pipes

Sorry to waffle on I just really need some help or advice on where to go next
At my wits end now

Thanks Antony

Hi Antony,
You seems to have done a lot to understand the turbos on the 3.0 l motor.
I have tried earlier to get help here but not yet.
Disregard the thumb on my D3 G4 that accidently is for sale.
My problem is with my D4 MY2011.
Got a renovated motor from Oval that takes a lot of oil. 1 ltr for 3500 kms. No smoke but get into the intercooler tube.
Have dpf.
Changed secondary turbo, CSOV, oil catcher.
Done dpf regeneration. 0 g.
No error codes.
Motor runs fine. It is just the oil consumption and that it gets into the intercooler.
I am in Sweden and Oval says they can change the motor if I pay all the cost for fitting and transport. Will be very very expensive.
Thinking of getting a used Jag motor, but this will also be very expensive with fitting.
Maybe you have an idea what is wrong.
