Park brake - incomplete release (return spring)

just had my 05plate D3 diagnosed with an 'adrift return spring' after complaining of squeaking park brake after release. I could even feel the beast dragging, but was confused to find the disc wasn't hot.

Turns out (yeah laugh at me all ye park brake experts Smile ) that the park brake is in fact a drum effort, not on the disc.

Anyway I'm glad they found it.

Note LRA could get nothing from electronic diagnostics (not their fault!), this was good old fashioned mechanics...
 Never assume.

The park brake is a drum inside the rear disc, I thought everyone knew that Wink
