Positive experience with Warranty Direct

Hi

Just one claim in four years but in case it helps anyone making a decision. My 56 plate Disco3 developed the weak door latch issue. WD have replaced the latch at my local main dealer with no fuss and less the £50 excess. Very little hassle.

I can't of course comment about a larger or more complex claim but in this one instance they have been easy to deal with.

Ade

When I had the D3, WD paid out for EGR valves, a turbo, and a brake calliper without any fuss. I personally can't fault them. I think a lot has to do with how the claim is presented by the repairer.

They've paid for wishbones and ball joints on mine - pretty straightforward process.

Likewise for me - in 2013 WD paid for Air Compressor, EGR's and seat belt latch - total cost £1230 - so far nothing this year, but having a low risk appetite (and low technical skills for DiY) I'm glad the cover is in place for another 18 months…(and is transferrable if I sell)

I've just dropped (kicking & screaming Big Cry Big Cry ) from WD ExtraCare to SecureCare (shade over 8 years & 117k) so no more cover for suspension, AC & a few other bits. Had an aftermarket warranty on the car since its 3rd birthday & never been out of pocket, deffo one of my better financial decisions. Buying (or not) an insurance is always a gamble, some will claim way more than they pay out, others will claim less or nothing. For me with the reliability I've experienced it's a complete no brainer. Unfortunately next year all I'll be able to get is engine & gearbox cover for ~£500, might just self insure. A scary prospect. Shocked Shocked

They paid for an mot failure upper wishbone but I had to pay for the other side as only an advisory ( fair enough) so although it was straight forward I am out of pocket so far. Will I reinsure next year, not sure yet.

Scary thing with these cars now is the price of a replacement engine, it could well exceed the value of the car. Would be interesting to see what WD does in that case.

Ha ha that's why I said I'm not sure if I will reinsure rather than I won't. I'm in that psychological situation now. " what if I stop the insurance and my engine goes" Shocked

Same here, but I just talk sweetly to her (the car, not SWMBO Whistle ), keep her well serviced and have switched permanently to the posh juice (Ultimate/Nitro+/Supreme etc) which seems to suit her better. She'll probably die through tin worm infestation first, well she is a LR. Whistle
