Qs on retrofit ipod connector

Hi,

My car doesn't have the ipod connector in the arm rest. I assume looking at photos the ipod connector is wired into the aux circuit behind the arm rest and theoritically plug and play?

Has anyone done this? I'm wanting to connect a BOVEE to the car but don't want wires everywhere.

Can anyone point me in the direction of land rover breakers or sites to look up partnumbers so I can find this part?

An alternative to the above is to tap into the aux port and USB to route into the arm rest and use some other streaming device.

Cheers
Matt

I recently bought a cubby fridge off ebay. It was the cool box with phone option. I didn't need the phone option so still have the lid and cable.

Is that what you're after?

Dave that would be perfect for me. As you've had it apart does the cable that goes from ipod connector go to the Aux port circuit below - plug and play would be ace but i can wire stuff in if not.

I'll PM you to buy it Smile

OK. I've no idea if that is what you need or not! I thought the connector in the lid was for an old Nokia. Not having anything Ipod related I can't check. here are some more pics of the cable and connectors.

Thanks for those pics. You're right it is for a Nokia but i think there is a cable you get get to convert it to an ipod which you can plug a BOVEE adapter into for wireless music streaming.

I will do some more research and hopefully some more replies to confirm. I think it might work with mine and could be worth a try. If I can achieve wires tucked away under the arm rest I will be happy.

That’s for a D3 isn’t it?

iPod connector comes from the head unit. Do you have touchscreen?

No touchscreen on mine. It's just a smaller screen and has Harmon Kardon written on speaker grills. I believe it to be the basic HK option.

I've found the answer with Famousfives help Bow down on another post - there is a USB/ipod connection like this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/324722558859

Cheers for the help and cheers Dave for the pics and thoughts to offer the above - I thought it might work but doesn't seem like it will now.

That one won’t work on a 2010. That connection is for a 2013 onwards.

Do you know the part number of the one that will work on a 2010?

Three components you need. And this is providing the connection is in the transmission tunnel. And you have the capability within the audio unit.

Perfect thank you. Is that partnumber/diagram available online? I use something similar for my VWs for parts and invaluable.
Cheers
