On the engine and gearbox possibly, if they knew and could link it to a failure.

I've been thinking along the same lines as galwaygreen, as I have a new 2014MY on order

How easy is it to reverse a remap to factory standard and does the reversal leave any telltale signs that is has taken place?

I declared mine to Warrantee Direct and they were quite happy.

LR would NOT be happy as I understand it.

Very simple to unload a Pete Bell BAS remap & reload after service.

Same as NJSS, WD were quire happy to cover my vehicle with a BAS remap, they just wanted to know why I had it and the approximate extra power

In the case of a D4 with 255 horsepower and 8 speed gearbox, over 400 foot pounds of torque, twin turbo 3.0 diesel, and a 0-60 time of sub 9 secs - isn't that enough? Surely not worth a power boost to invalidate 3yrs manufacturers warranty.

Yes, but ... new RRS with the 'same' (what is different?) engine is quoted at 292bhp, so that ought to be an easy gain. Of course, no one has answered on here quite what the differences are but it shows, as we know already, that the basic engine and transmission combo can handle +20% quite easily

What suggests to you that the transmission (a relatively new unit) can take +20% in the longer term?

I find it interesting that they have restrained all bhp options to 600 Nm.
