Recirculate mode and steaming up

Can anyone confirm if their D3s can keep the glass clear in cold weather when the recirculate mode is enabled? It's my understanding that the AC should still be running as well to which should provide adequate dehumidification - but when I enable recirculate mode the glass will start steaming up within about 10 minutes. I did have to re-gas my AC in the summer so I wonder if I just have a leak though. Thanks!

Worth checking that your front foot week carpets aren’t wet, if the misting gets worse when on recirc I’d suspect watering the vehicle.
If the carpets are wet then possibly you need new sunroof drains

All cars will steam up the windows on recirc. One of my cars won’t even let you select defrost and recirc at the same time because of this

Some cars recirc will only work for 5 mins.

Try cracking a passenger window or sunroof open a tiny bit.

Thanks all - yeah the car is bone dry inside. This is definitely the first car I've had that can't keep the glass clear with recirc on - i.e I can normally run AC and have recirc on and I get hot dehumidified air and it keeps the glass clear just fine. My last Subaru did this fine and even the EV Nissan Leaf (no waste heat to utilise) manages this so I'd say this is pretty disappointing in the otherwise amazing package of the Disco.

I would have to agree that there is some excess moisture somewhere in the vehicle, I find misting is always worse if I get into any car with wet coats at least for a while.

The D3 was prone to this until I found the source of the water ingress (not the SR drains) and it managed to dry out.

I'm reasonably confident it's dry inside because there is no condensation inside the car in the morning or when it's standing without us in it. This only happens when we're in the car and recirculate is on (and it's cold outside).

IIRC my previous D3's and D4's all started to steam up if the recirculated air was switched on for more than 10 minutes (approx), never had a damp problem with any of them.

A search on the internet found this.

The main downside of the air-recirculation button is that it traps humidity inside the car, which results in misted windscreens, especially when the air is cold outside and in wet weather.

Interesting, good to know and at least hopeful that my AC may still be ok. I will try changing to a new activated carbon cabin filter and see if that lets me get away without needing recirculate as much in terms of stopping fumes coming in.

Using recirc and AC is a quick way to clear the screen of condensation when initially starting but leaving it on for a while will cause the screen to steam up as the moisture (breath etc) is not vented out.
Happens in all the cars I have had.
