Replacing D3 stereo head unit

I'm looking to install a Pioneer touchscreen head unit that I already have into my D3 with the HK logi 7 system. I've spoken to a local car stereo place that have given me an estimate of around £200 parts and £350 labour!

Just wondering if anyone has done this themselves? I'm certainly no expert, but to bring the cost down, I'm willing to learn!

Thanks in advance for any help!

The parts cost more than that but theres no way it will take £350 in labour.

The kit i have seen from connect2 uses plug in units that convert the speaker outputs to fibre optics so you can use the original amp and get proper sound quality. They also have a unit that communicates with the canbus so you still get to use the steering wheel controls.
When i looked into it you needed to add a permenant live and an ignition switched feed which are easy enough to find.
You could easily do the job in under a couple of hours
