Roof leak

Hello
I noticed a water leak today, running down the pax side a pillar trim on the inside. Further inspection showed the front of the headlining to be damp. I’ve stripped back and done some investigation but can’t seem to locate the source. The water is showing itself very high up where an inner metal meets the outer skin. Pic below. No sign of water running down the a pillar metal so the water must be getting in higher up rather than the usual a pillar clips having failed.
Anyone seen this before and found the source?
Edit: no sunroof fitted.

If its not the sunroof, check the body seam under the trim on the roof Thumbs Up

Thanks. I seen a thread on that so lifted the trim earlier. I didn’t see any obvious seams though there was plenty seam sealer. What’s the approach? Cover it with more sealer?

Hi
I had water on passenger floor mat and usual thought was sunroof or A-pillar. Changed all plastic pins and taped suspected hole under the pillar, checked all drains from sunroof and after few days exactly the same surprise on passenger floor. Big Cry
Finally - it was front plastic cover, one which covers wipers motor. Thumbs Up
Open bonnet, take rubber seals above battery cover than lift slightly wipers cover. There is small plastic "blanket" which suppose to go over cabin airflow intake. I had water dripping through pollen filter.

Cheers. Mine is definitely coming in higher up as the headlining is damp and it’s running from that down the a pillar

Have you seen from 1/2 way down page 2 here?

This appears to be an issue on more and more D3s and now some D4s

That’s the thread I seen yes. Expected more of an opening when I removed the roof trim but maybe those small cracks are enough. Put a bit of sealant on yesterday. Now thinking I should have put more as the roof trim is likely stuck to it now. 🤦🏻‍♂️
