Telegraph article about PCP

Interesting article about PCP finance in the telegraph, I don't have finance, but if I did I would certainly be putting extra aside for he future.

Journalist with a degree in stating the bleeding obvious.

Simple fact of life - read and understand what you are entering into.

I had a £12k ballon on my D4 at the end of its finance period on a car, according to we buy any car, was worth £27k

It's just a case of doing some very simple research and simple maths before you sign up

Simple rule of journalism - if you want to sell copy and the numerically illiterate get themselves into difficulties, it must be the supplier's fault! Write article accordingly...

So in reality you're best putting no deposit down, then at least you can hand a car back with nothing lost or if the residuals are better than expected roll it over to the next deal. If you lease then you definitely will not have a better trade in than expected.

All you need to do is find a finance company gullable enough to enter into a PCP agreement without the client first paying a deposit... Rolling Eyes

You can put very small deposits with LR ISTR.

I've done loads of PCPs and rarely put anything in. If anything a max of £500. You'll never see it again because its value is eroded in lower monthly payment; unless you buy the car at the end you've lost it at the end of the term. Similarly if you want to trade in then get the trade-in value back as a cheque.
