Headlamp Adjustment - What is 1.2% below horizontal?
During the summer I checked and adjusted my suspension heights and they all stay within a few mm of the correct height. With dark evenings I keep thinking the dipped beam is a little high. The instructions for manual adjustment are here http://www.disco3.co.uk/gallery/albums/use...stment.pdf
Can anyone explain:
"The headlamp setting is 1.2 % below horizontal and parallel."
I could understand if it said "1.2 degrees ..." but don't understand reference to %. What is it 1.2% of?

For every 100 unit forward, should be set 1.2 unit down. Like a gradient of a hill.

Thank you tayaste and Beanie. Goodness knows why I didn't work that out. Perhaps I am a 1/10 rather than 10% guy. Or perhaps it was a tough day in the office! I need to find a flat surface and wall and get my tape measure out.2005, TDV6 S, Auto, 190k miles, owned from new, V8 Brake Upgrade, Nancom Evo, RLD protector, BAS EGR blanking & Remap, separate ATF cooler, changing all the fluids ahead of time.

Yes, my understanding is that the target range for cut off is 75m. The % below the horizontal varies based upon the height of the headlamp. So, our MX5 is probably a smaller % than the 1.2% of the D3. I will try to work out the height of "the headlamp", which may not be the centre of the glass.
What I thought was a dumb question has turned out to be quite interesting - sad I know 2005, TDV6 S, Auto, 190k miles, owned from new, V8 Brake Upgrade, Nancom Evo, RLD protector, BAS EGR blanking & Remap, separate ATF cooler, changing all the fluids ahead of time.

Just reading up on this as have just fitted my new Osram D2S Xenon lamps and now my dipped beam in sky high, what has happened? Both lamps are seated in the correct position, there is a notch on the lamp itself so can only go in one way, so what's gone on? Surely I don't have to start adjusting them?D3 Tonga HSE 2005
