D3 - No power on pull away

Chaps, can anyone help please?

My D3 has been as good as gold for the 5 years I've had it....until last night!

Started the car up as normal and went to pull away. Revs went up but the car moved off really slowly. I thought I'd knocked it out of drive at first. I checked the gear settings and everything was as it should be. Went to pull away again and same thing happened. Revs went up and the car moved really slowly. After about 5 seconds the power came in and it took off. No warning lights appeared on the dash. I completed my 15 minute journey. Every time I got the car was moving it was absolutely fine, it was just the pull aways.

When I started up for the return journey the yellow engine warning light appeared on the dash. Interestingly enough the pull away was much better now but still not perfect. I guess because it was more warmed up.

Any thoughts or suggestions as to what the issue may be please?

Additionally if anyone could recommend a decent garage or mobile mechanic in the Buckhurst Hill/Loughton area of Essex it would be appreciated.

Thanks
Cowsey

Sounds like EGR valve problem.

Gear selector pivot on side of gearbox partially seized!
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Thanks chaps. I'll take a look at the gear selector suggestion first.

Thumbs Up If it is EGR's engine would not Rev. If you can move the gear selector lever very easily it's not that as the lever starts to go stiff, but without comparing it you may not have noticed

You need to get a diagnostic tool plugged into it and the logged fault code read. Sounds like the MAF sensor. Had the same symptoms when I accidentally removed the maf sensor fuse one time. Slow to pull away but ok once moving. No error light at first until the next time i started her up the EML came on.

Thanks. Can anyone direct me towards 'Geoff' please. I've looked on the list of members and there seems to be more than one.

Cheers
