Turbo Actuator Rod - Some Help Please... |

My problem is a continually sticking actuator rod. I have freed it up five times now with WD40, but I will get ESF message again after driving say for about 30-45 mins and most of the time when I'm decelerating say coming up to roundabout. or when flooring it and I can feel the turbo slightly hesitate/stutter around 3500 rpm at say 75mph, then ESF. (The fault code is P132B Turbo/supercharger boost control A performance)
So today after having the car sit in the garage for 2 days I started it and it was ESF straight away again. Took a look at the actuator rod and it was stuck again quite bad. This time I've used lithium grease and its freed it up slightly but not as free as I think it should be, i.e. there is still a resistance on the push of the rod in but a lot less on the pull (I'm accessing it through the wheel arch on off road height).
So my questions are:
1) why is it continually seizing?
2) whats the correct type of grease? can someone provide a link (need a spray as its a to access)
3) is there a specific area to lubricate - I'm sparying on the rod end and everywhere behind it.
3) is this problem solely down to the bolt on the rod seizing and nothing to do with the turbo?
I've read WD40 is not good for high temps and will burn off, so thats why I'm trying lithium grease, think this might be slightly better but not the correct grease.
FYI - I did use copper grease on the second attempt ( now on my 5th attempt) which made things worse but I think I got most of that off with the third attempt which consisted of a full bottle of WD40.
Other things I've checked are intercooler hoses which seem ok, and I cleaned the MAP sensor which wasnt overly gunged up i.e. the hole was still visible.
Really hope someon can help as it seems I'm slipping every nearer getting a turbo replaced and that scares me and my bank balance alot!

I changed my turbo a few years back, put the turbo in a vice and had to use a shifting spanner to free it, got it moving around but had replaced with new as doing it with 'body on' is nightmare
Anyway, couple days later an old mechanic friend was visiting and I was relating the story to him, promptly got the turbo out to show him and ... rod was solid again! So we removed the rod for a look see (not particularly easy even with turbo off - god knows how its done in situ??? ) Upshot is one of the metal ball/socket connections was rusty and very rough. The only solution would have been to replace the rod assembly - hoping of course that the electronic stepper motor hadn't been affected by the seizure.
I know others free their actuator rods and have great success, I also know there are some 'wizards' (Disco_Mikey being one ) who can change the rod in situ but the hassle of removing/refitting the turbo 'body-on' made it a defo turbo change for me
If you can get the rod changed for the 'newer' type and the software updated so car 'exercises' the rod that should do the job.
Bit of a ramble and not much help I'm afraid but its maybe bumped your post up!

Honestly - it sounds like it's time to have a new turbo fitted, hopefully someone local'ish to you will be along soon to recommend a good Indy

Thanks Guys.
I'll phone round a few indys to see if they can replace the rod in situ.
In the meantime I think if I can get a lubricant thats suitable for high temps that might do for now.
any ideas on a high temp lubricant thats available in a spray can?

Its catch 22 any lube thats thin enough to get into the partially seizing bits wont last long as its to thin, anything thick enough to lube AND last wont be able to get ito the seized bits.
We use this at work initially I didnt like it, buts its as thin as and turns quite sticky so might be worth a try?
