Continuous beeping

Hi
Keep getting continuous beeping from parking sensors only when below certain speed. No flashing orange light on switch and no error on the dash and no error when I connect IID Tool. Goes off when I increase speed or if I turn switch off.

I get this when in slow traffic, I have a couple of £16 Chinese sensors (lifetime guarantee and near to me so worth a punt) I figure it is down to them?

The other time it happens is if it rains that can start it off, that would suggest a bare wire in the bumper?

It has not got so bad that I will remove the bumper cover to check yet but London driving is not fun!

They switch off at above a certain speed, I had a similar issue on my D4 and it was the front number plate had come unstuck on one side and was hanging forward by about an inch and the sensor was seeing it, worth checking

Hi
Recently replaced front sensor. I knew I had a faulty sensor because the orange light would flash and I would also get an error message on the dash but also the BT llD tool would flag a fault. But now all I get is the beeping with no errors showing anywhere.

They can be tempremental motorcycles always set mine off even two lanes over!

If a sensor is overly sensitive and gives a signal as soon as they are turned on then the sounder will act like it is too close to another object as it is supposed to do. Basically the system is functioning but is being triggered incorrectly as previous post.

If you have an IID tool, you can look at the live data from the sensors. They need to be on (so get someone to sit in the car with it in gear and their foot on the brake-as they don't come on when the handbrake is on or you are in Park). then you can look at the graphs and walk about in front to see if one of them is particularly erratic.
Then buy a decent replacement sensor. I had all sorts or erratic issues with 2 I bought online from LR Parts so I ended up buying genuine.

Hi Roidster
Never thought about the live values. Culprit sensor now found Thumbs Up
Funny how it never flagged up with an error like my last one did Question
Even when testing with live values it would sit fine for ages and then it would go crazy.

Good news. You would get an error if it was open/closed circuit. But yours is just detecting things that aren’t there so as far as the system is concerned it’s working.
