Bought a discovery 2.7 that the oil pump had failed on, there’s a few valves bent and the cap bolts sheared of, tried tightening the cams down but the exhaust side on each head is very tight, so either the cams are bent or the head is.
I just wanted to ask if anyone on here has gotten away with buying second hand heads and putting them on? Thanks.

theres always hope, and plenty of engines around with bottom end damage so you might be lucky!
I thought the worst after my D3 had the under bonnet fire that it was a wasted effort trying to bring it back from the brink, but its all good now having replaced both inlets and throttle body, I know its not the same issue but it shows sometimes the toast can land buttered side up!
Must stop buying shiny toys....

Yeap. Lots of people.
Buy a lR or jag one off eBay.
Get it with cams.
Test or replace glow plugs.
