Manually adjust heater blend motors |
|
typical its winter and my heater blend motor passenger side has failed.
Rather than rip my dash apart i read somewhere that someone was able to manually adjust the flap to allow constant heat as sods law its in the cold position.
Is this possible, has anyone done this?
I will get round to replacing it.
Does anyone know which motor on the passenger side is for the heat control, top or bottom, and the part numbers.

Part no LH Heater Blend Motor & cooling system cleaner |
|
The part number for the LH heater mix motor is LR041273..
FYI I’ve bought one but haven’t installed it. I’m convinced I’ve got a partially blocked heater matrix/core. There was no heat left or right side until my mechanic flushed the core by disconnecting both connectors in the engine bay and running a hose through it at very low pressure. This gave heat on the right (drivers) side. So I think I’m going to try either LiquiMoly or Wurth cooling system flush to try and clear the rest of the matrix/core. Has anyone else tried ithis stuff?

blocked matrix is a common issue.
The only way to clear it enough, is to remove the matrix really, as you are trying to push dirt up a hill

Yeah you’re probably right but it might be worth trying the easier options first. Not much to lose.

Flushed the matrix on mine recently, seemed to make a real difference. Easy to get to the matrix hoses to make connections. Followed South Main Autos video on YouTube.
