Cost for replacing oil Pump |
|
New oil pump seems to be around £220, what sort of cost is it to have the pump fitted excluding timing belt ? Discovery 3 2007 HSE

Belts I've had done a month ago but wasn't aware of the oil pump issue, now going to ask the garage for a price. Considered doing it myself but need to factor in the cost for the locking tool kit and my time, this is why i wondered how long it would take a experienced Discovery 3 mechanic ? and how much i could expect to pay. That's the LR price. If you look at the posts on this site, you will see that the Peugeot/Citroen pump at around £100 is the identical FoMoCo item.
I agree with AlanB, if your D3 is 2007 you most certainly should change the pump along with all the belts.
Best of luck, I hope you manage to get the work done soon. 2007 Disco3 2.7 tdv6 SE

May I suggest you try Disco_Mikey on this forum as he stocks the correct oil pump and will supply at a competitive price. He also knows the part number.
PM him and see what he has to offer.
And if you fancy a long trip to Dundee he will do all the work in no time at all!!! 2007 Disco3 2.7 tdv6 SE

Flack did mine a couple of months back and is a top bloke - can't recommend him highly enough.
That's a good price, though it would be prudent to factor in the cost of a water pump (around thirty quid, if I recall correctly) plus maybe a tensioner.

After the OEM pumps being on back order for the last 10 weeks, these pumps are not for sale. They are only for use in the workshop
I have 10 sat on the shelf, 6 are reserved for jobs already booked in. No ETA at the moment on the next batch My D3 Build Thread

Ok no worries, is there any references to torque settings for oil pump housing bolts. Found another thread but link doesn't work. Thanks. Discovery 3 2007 HSE

Oil pump housing bolts including the 4 underneath, are all torqued to 10Nm. 'Flack' has done a comprehensive guide on how to change the oil pump. See PDF in his gallery. Or Haynes manual, I think, gives some info. D3 owned from new, P017 brake recall, BAS FBHIC, new FBH, LR013487 oil pump, new water pump. RRS front lower suspension arms. New suspension compressor/ relay. New Denso alternator. CuNifer rear brake pipes. New GKN rear propshaft. New HPFP belt & tensioner. New A/C Condenser.NO WARRANTY for many many years.
