Brake Pads & Kwikfit's Lifetime Guarantee
Bit of a Good News, Bad News Spoke story. When changing my wheels week before last I noticed that the front pads were made by Ferodo. A little light bulb lit today to remind me that when I phoned Kwik Fit they said they fitted Ferodo pads and they had a Lifetime Guarantee with them, changed free while you own the car etc.
Phoned my local Kwik Fit branch and got a price, £95 for the pads and £25 for the sensor wire, fitted. That's the good news. Bad news is that the lifetime guarantee did not apply to OEM pads and, as they were the only pads available, my D3.
Still £120 fitted is a good bit cheaper than the local LR stealer, ISTR they quoted £170.

A result for you then DSL compared to the Stealer's price - even better if you now have the life time guarantee!
Were you also lucky enough to have a KwikFit Fitter who knew how to jack up a D3 or did you have to hold their hand!
Sadly, DSL didn't get the lifetime guarantee As you slide down the banister of life

Havn't had them fitted yet, the "local" depot at Elgin had done 3 in the last couple of weeks. Sadly no guarantee. Wouldn't bother changing til run down a bit more but off to Corsica in June so will need them for the hills,

Don't really want to risk buying brake pads through fleabay. I'd rather buy them fitted through someone that I (or my estate) can shout at if something goes wrong. Will see if Kwikfit do them.

I'm sure the LR dealer price for front pads is £55 (Large One to confirm?)

Have used Mintex on my D1 and they've proved to be a good product.
Have looked at D3 pads on EBlag in the past and many don't come with the fitting bits and pieces, hence the low price I guess.
Are the ones you've seen for £25.85 with the fittings? If they are I'll get myself a set

Just show's a picture of the pads ..maybee worth a quick email to them.
I personally am not bothered about the fitting kit ..i have removed mine a few times to clean out the muck and have used the old clips and bolts.
In fact the LR dealer fitting instructions shows them removing the bottom caliper bolt and swinging the whole caliper upwards on the top bolt.G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

No reply as yet - probably a Monday to Friday EBlag shop
I, personally, will not use Kwik Fit after they replaced the pads in my Volvo T5 about 3 or 4 years back. The pads disintegrated with smoke from the wheel arches after spirited driving.
Volvo mechanic who looked at it said he had never seen anything like it.
Customer care didn't want to know about refunding for poor product. Had lots of arguments and essentially the local area manager for kwik fit told me to 'go away', but not so nicely as that.
I gave up in the end and replaced with Volvo main dealer products.
Haven't been to a kwik fit since.... wouldn't trust them as far as I could spit (and I can't do that very well)...
