Rock/Tree Sliders
Hi Folks, I've searched and read all the posts about sliders for the D3.
There appears to be:
Prospeed
Terrafirma
Shire Fabrication
WildBear
Land Rover Passion
All with varying designs/pros/cons.
I read in some posts that if you put sliders on there's a gap between the door and the sliders, is this right?
Do some fill this gap better than others? Trying to put together a shopping list for the new year, and a set of sliders is on the cards, so I'm getting all the research done in advance!

TF rocksliders come with SS bolts, but they're hex and it's possible to strip them out (ask me how I know). Other than that they're good enough.
Read my post. You need to add the weather stripping to the bottom of the door, rather than the top of the slider as some have suggested. Jury's still out for me on what works best. the ebay link may be OK.PAGODA

I'm Land Rover Passion CEO.
there is a little bit space between the slider and the external dust cover, not the door.
the door closes very well and the internal gasket does its job normally.
If you prefer, you can add the weather stripping as suggested but personally, I've never done it and I don't miss it

Just to bring this back up, I'm reading that some don't stick out enough to actually protect the body.
Does anyone recommend any particular make, or avoid some makes?

I have (finally) taken delivery of my Prospeed sliders. They are excellent. Plenty of pictures around of them. They stick out as far as the edges of the mirrors.
I have not used them in any offroad situation but they feel and look very sturdy. There are YouTube videos of them in action if you hunt.
Prospeed seem to be under (understandable) pressure with the Pandemic and mine took just over 4 months from order last year to arrival.
Hope that helps you?

The Prospeed ones come with replacement lower door seals, which I assume are designed to fill the gap you refer to. I’ve not fitted any, but maybe Oxford-boy can confirm this?
Supply may have improved slightly - I’ve been on a waiting list since the end of January and was told yesterday that they’ve just come in so should receive a set next week.

Fingers crossed for that delivery, I'm still waiting for my step inserts...
Yes, there are lower door seal replacements with the ProSpeed kit. There's a good few threads on here (including a pictorial step by step fitting guide) that show tips on fitting the seals and the entire kit.

Just curious Kamo1...?
Why countersunk bolts? won't you have to countersink the slider if you use them?
Why not SS button bolts?
Just curious, as about to fit some myself
Carl at shire sent me this...."m8x25mm Dome heads"

The door seal/edge trim, Kenneth mentions above.
Does the lower door trim have to be removed to fit this? then reinstate the door trim, after the seal.
Or does it just slide under the lower door trim?
Anyone

Any votes for other brands Terrafirma /Britpart?
I can't wait so long or justify the cost of the Prospeed ones even though they look superb 🤤

I’ve been running Britpart ones for years DA7533, as when I kitted my D3 out, there was no other choice. They have taken a right hammering. Every now and then I take them off rub them down and paint. Nothing wrong with them.
