Cold air in vents but warm with FBH on

Hi there,

I experience the following problem on my Discovery 3 2.7 tdv6 2006:

With the engine warm (driving for 45 min) the inside air coming from the vents is cold. If I start the FBH (auxiliary heater - I have the remote control installed so it is no linger controlled by the car) the air comes hot right away. If I stop the FBH the air gets cold again.

I am thinking that most probably the water pump from the FBH is doing the circulation to the heater and that's why the air is getting warm.

The question is: what could go wrong and why the water is not circulating anymore to the inside heater? Could it be the water pump? Like I said, I drive for more than 45 min and the water temperature on the engine remained on the normal level (@90). Is there another pump for circulating the water to the heater? or a valve or something?

Thanks in advance!
Ionut

Sounds like the normal blocked heater core problem a flush of the heater core should sort it.
