Mantec sump guard

Can anyone advise on the above?
I'm about to purchase a new one of these as they are at a quite reasonable price at the mo but was thinking of having it in Ali to match the wheels or maybe powder coated to match my Java Black colour? Do they all come in the pre painted condition and if I put it on the D3 in this purchased condition will it just oxidise and look abit naff?

Any advise greatly appreciated.

Cheers Ceekay

I have seen yours actually before and that's prob why I'm in a dilemma Confused

Wanted to purchase it and bolt straight on but if its going to oxidise fairly quickly then perhaps powder coat first? Is there a specific colour for your plate or do I just get them to match Java? Could also do with some idea of cost for the powder coat if poss. Still not sure if to get it to match the alloy wheels of black though?

Thing is if you get it painted and actually USE it then it will look shabby after a while as the paint comes off...

Keeping it natural means when the scrapes happen its not as easy to see, especially at the front.

I have on on my FF and cost £100 all in and about 40-60mins to fit but is a great bit of kit that has saved the sump a few times...

Good Point, dont mind keeping it natural just don't want it to be scabby looking when it oxidises but suppose could always have it coated if it gets a bit ugly.

I paint mine with hammerite and a roller - that way when it suffers a scratch or scrape I can just roller it while it's still on the car and it looks *fine* again.

Not as good as a powdercoated one, but still better than a bare one IMO Thumbs Up

Hamerite Smooth or Hamerite Hammered Laughing

Not a bad idea, dont do much real off roading but would hope to do in the future so perhaps a powder coat to start with and if it starts getting battered a roll over in situ with hammerite?
