Touring Europe free style

I read somewhere that a group of LR owners get together and tour Europe.
It was not an Agency, just a group of anybody that wanted to tag along and go all over the place in Europe at your own expense with your own vehicle.
Can anybody point me in the right direction ?
It was mentioned that there was a shortage of the new D5 so once all this VIrus malarky is sorted and we can live our lives again I might give it a go.

Question, why?

We have travel all over Europe as a solo vehicle from Nord Kapp to Gibraltar and as far east as Romania.

Mobile phone signal is nearly 100% coverage in Europe. Many countries have forums with English speaking members.

Well serviced/maintained and prepped vehicle, do some research on the countries you wish to go to on local forums. Try to hit whatever country you are interested and see if your trip dates coincide with local national events. We have made good friends by turning up at other countries national events.

I can not speak for the TO ofcourse, but i know there are people, who like to do such travels in company of others.... just for company and new friendships,, maybe even as a single or feeling more secure or otherwise........

Everybody his “taste” i use to think..

Yup, its like an extended meetup.
Its great so that you always have someone to watch your back, someone who knows how to fix something that comes up, and someone to cheer you on when one wheel is half over a cliff edge.

Makes for a fun journey.

I will probably be doing a more local Island Hopping one next summer in the Canary Islands.

A group of LR drivers meet to go on a great journey. Then they drive off in different directions all over Europe. Rolling with laughter
Just kidding.

We often do solo trips as a family. Actually that‘s the only way we do.
Last summer the situation with Corona was a little confusing. We prepared the car and took off. I wanted to go to the Pyrenees. My wife wanted to go to the mountains without leaving the country.
We agreed in the car to drive south without any further planning and ended up in Sardinia next day. It was one of the best trips we ever made. That‘s no joke Laughing

Remember, you only have 90 days in 180 before you're kicked out and that includes any other trips you might have made. You should also check to see if you do or don't need driving permits, which differ country to country. You now also need a Green card for insurance and if you're taking a dog, that needs thinking about well in advance.

Other than that, just pack and go. Thumbs Up
