Update - received call from the Sales Manager who was excellent, very concerned and professional. Has undertaken to review and get back to me with an update... Slowly restoring faith in customer service....

DON'T USE THEM!!

I paid over £800 for a warranty on my first FFRR and they never paid out once!

Save the money yourself, and that way if nothing fails you got a summer holiday out of it.

They do nothing but rip off the second hand market owners.

Won't waste another breath on these crooks

I have he nothing but good service from Warranty Direct and they have never refused a valid claim. The terms are pretty clear about what they cover and they pay out accordingly. If they don't there are ways to take action as it is a contract.

Self insuring is fine, but equally insurance companies exist because they provide a level of cover that a individual is unwilling or unable to match. If you want to self insure, then you need the 10k in the bank for a new engine, otherwise your not doing anything that compares to insurance.

Well a gearbox failure confirmed by LR main agent not covered!, an alternator that was again confirm by main agent not covered!!

So I would not trust team as far as the rubbish advert.

Only agent in Aberdeenshire allowed to do repairs on south dee side road and would not get near my 4x4!!!

Says it all, no confidence in them from point of them taking your money, they are very good at that bit!

If it was covered by the policy and had failed, then you could have taken action to ensure the claim was paid.

The terms are quite binding on both sides. What was their reason for not paying ?.

I assume it was Warranty Direct ?

I filled up the claim forms, sent them off with all evidence, and got diddle squat, so like I says, save yourself the grief and either get a landrover warranty or save up each month what they would rob you!

No faith in them as they just state it has to completely fail to be covered!

So an alternator light on and no charge is not failed, and a gearbox that the dealer says is dead is not a failure either?????

Rip off Britain , you have been warned!!!

They paid my alternator no questions asked for same symptoms.

You should have had a claims number raised through garage authorising the repair before sending them the claim form and receipts etc. The authorisation number has to be raised before work commences. If you got that then, the claim form would have been just a paperwork exercise.

Very very happy with WD.

Have paid out on anything that needed it and was covered. Have had a couple of odds and ends fail that weren't covered... but then they weren't in the policy, so no complaints there. They actually covered items that my "genuine" Land Rover one didn't the previous year.

That said, have always found the sales process hard work. Making sure my policy documents reflect phone calls (no betterment, zero excess, emissions etc) always takes a couple of iterations of policy documents. Shame really, as that's an easy problem to fix.

As with any policy, with all the market data they have available, they know that on average, the average D3 driver will claim less per year than the cost of the policy. Your gamble is whether you're average... £500/year isn't many dealer hours these days.

Sales process was hard work but I haggled for best deal and price fix for two years. Made one claim so far for wheel bearing and they paid out. I got a claim ref from WD direct before car went to dealer and the dealer then just called WD with the details to link to claim.

I thought I may be an above average claimant, but so far, not the case. However, next service due in one month!

It's dependant on what level of cover you took as to what is covered not everything is covered on the lower levels hence why I took out the top level and upgraded to 100% on parts too

Two year's arguing over something that was fixed in the end using a £60 eBay part... Life's too short...
