Just after some opinions on LR warranties as I have had a quote of £725 for 12 months or £875 with LR assistance. This is the select warranty cover for vehicles under 10 years old or under 100.000 miles.
It gives me 12 months cover for named mechanical / electrical parts, £750 mot cover, European cover, car hire for 7 days, £3000 individual claim, unlimited claims up to the purchase price of the vehicle, LR dealership of my choice for any repairs.
Does this seem a fair price against other warranty companies ?.
I currently have the LR warranty, so is it better to stick with the devil you know as when she needed a new EGR valve there was no paying out and claiming it back, just took her in and collected her the same day all done.

I'm the of the opposite view to DD. You won't know if you've got a good 'un or not til something big fails and putting a few quid away a month won't even look at it. I'm several thousand pound in pocket by running these cars with warranties and would hope never to be without one. Pays yer money or takes yer chance, as they say.

I will certainly be going for an extended warranty when my current warranty comes to an end, you can budget for the £725 annual warranty but you can never be sure of putting enough dosh aside to pay for any repairs otherwise. I've had a new turbo, suspension sensor and epb check on my warranty in the last few weeks that would have cost me in excess of £3k.

Am in the process of renewing with WD on my 2.7 TD 2005 HSE.
I have managed to get them to £550 with no betterment for 13 months. Tried very hard to get the excess removed but they are refusing........
I reckon I am down on last year by having warranty, but do feel happier knowing it is there if something big goes. James favourite hobby is writing in the third person.

WD 3 years cover £1800;
Extracare cover with;
Dealer repair (unlimited hourly labour rate and genuine parts only)
No betterment clause
Airbag and emission system cover
No off-road exclusions
Excess £50
No 90 day lead in clauses
I think others may have got slightly better deals, but that's the best I squeeze out of them.

Same as I got from them per year but only 2 years (didn't know they did 3 at the time). Also was 93k ISTR which didn't help the haggling process.
