Waterproof Liquid Insulation Electrical Tape

Was wondering as sometimes connections / wires etc require a repair if this may be a good solution plse where the liquid tape can provide a decent waterproof seal , particularly where heat shrink cant be applied

Really hope this is useful

Good reminder that this stuff exists.
We used to use ScotchKote offshore for field repairs to electrical cables - very similar to this stuff. However, the ScotchKote or "liquid electrical tape" is not that resistant to mechanical wear so we used to wrap any repairs in friction tape (slightly sticky and robust fabric tape) to protect them until we could get somewhere nice and warm and dry to make a permanent repair. It's good stuff although does take a few hours to dry completely.

I've been using a different brand of this for years, mainly on my boats and motorcycles.
And yes it's a great product.
I've also used it to 'pot' the backs of multi connectors and the clear silicone sleeves on Bullet and spade connectors.

Just a word or warning - it's a complete pain in the ar5e to get off again if you need to, so use it only where you are confident you are finished with the project.
The can I have, which unfortunately the label fell off years ago, is apparently dissolvable in Acetone, but in reality it just turns into a horrible sticky mess.
Heaven doesn't want me, and hell is afraid I'll take over.
