West Midland Trains/Trainline
Booked train into town for early doors yesterday. Lot of trains cancelled on our line at short/nil notice and board usually states ‘driver shortage’ (hiding behind Covid?) and so it was yesterday.
Only a four quid ticket but principle made me make a claim (there’s an option to donate to charity I click on). However trainline take a £2.50 “admin” charge. Robbing

I stopped using TrainLine. There's zero financial benefit to using them over buying through National Rail Enquiries or direct from operator and over time their admin charges start adding up.I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Another train rant; connected at Cardiff back to Brum and four England ‘fan’ lads, absolutely hammered, effing and jeffing about all the ‘Italian birds’ they’d and blokes they beat up at Wembley. Asking them to just pipe down a bit (in front of rail staff) got mouthfuls of abuse and threats of violence (from the collective, none on their own I established….) and then the train staff decide serving them alcohol is all just part of the service…..
Bristol Airport. The arrivals pick-up area is now in the short-term car-park. Drove in, my daughter got in the car and I drove to the exit. Less than a minute all told but cost me £3.50. No grace-period.

Bin men I can almost guarantee that every Tues morning ( collection day), that someone else’s garbage has been deposited on the street or pavement outside my property, because the otherwise unemployable tw*ts just can’t do their job properly. I’m convinced they are all in such a rush, so they can be ‘finished ‘ by 10.30 am. D3 owned from new, P017 brake recall, BAS FBHIC, new FBH, LR013487 oil pump, new water pump. RRS front lower suspension arms. New suspension compressor/ relay. New Denso alternator. CuNifer rear brake pipes. New GKN rear propshaft. New HPFP belt & tensioner. New A/C Condenser.NO WARRANTY for many many years.
Every six weeks or so I get a spam message asking if I'd like to re-order a packet of four Viagra™ (that I didn't order). Four every six weeks - how do they know I'm married?

Motorway (car sales company) got a good valuation from them, tried to contact the dealer they said wanted the car (part of their process), no response, went back to Motorway and now called 11 times to try and get a response (no call backs received), they point blank refuse to answer any questions and have now blocked my number - great service
Just spoken to the dealer and it seems Motorway is putting pressure on them to buy cars from them, but will ban them if they complete a sale privately. They also said that they are having huge issues with Motorway in regard to fees etc... simple answer - (despite all the hassles) sell privately!I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

"Plant-based meat". It's not meat if it's made from plants(*). Meat is bits of animals.
"Plant-based meat alternative". Fine. "Plant-based meat". Not fine.
And that's before we get to "vegan bacon"...
* - before the pedants start, yes lots of our meat comes from animals that eat plants and so the meat is from plants but not all of it is.Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

Presume this is okay? life gets interesting cooking for two vegans in the family, particularly when the other two are avid meat eaters. Separate shelves in the fridge, cooking things. They do sit down to eat together, which surprises me, but both sides throw insults at each other!

I'm sure that's fine.
I quite enjoy chicken-free steak, chicken-free beef, chicken-free sausages and chicken-free fish.2014 - D4 2010 HSE Nara Bronze

Are you sure that's not a packets of gaskets for an LT77 gearbox?
(Probably taste much the same)

I don't see why it needs to mention chicken at all. Does ham have "chicken-free ham" on the packet?
Why not just say "vegan slices" - or will vegans thinks that means someone has been slicing up vegans? Having said that, I do like a nice slice of vegan. Sliced lamb or beef is very nice.
I understand that it's marketing and that people might not be ready for "non-animal protein slices", but also have no doubt that it's partly aimed at meat eaters or those thinking about reducing meat consumption. I can see no other reason for trying to make something look and taste like meat. There are meat free burgers that are made to look like beef burgers and even use beetroot to make them look more meaty in colour. Why? Why not make them look and taste of plants? I've had very nice meat-free stuff that didn't try to be anything other than what it was - we don't have "meat free falafels" after all, they're just falafels.Visiting from rrsport.co.uk
