Which Code reader

Hi, I've got a D4 ordered and am waiting for delivery, I've got a hawkeye that I used on my ffrr and can get a unlock code for the D4 which is about £200, or is there a better bit of kit that I should get ?? Wink

Thanks Nick

depends on whether you want to make any changes to the spec of the D4 or if you just want to read/reset codes.

If the latter, then the hawkeye licence will be fine, if the former, then you shoiuld think about a BBS Faultmate MSV2 Thumbs Up

I have a Hawkeye for the G4 - it has been invaluable for getting me out of trouble a few times and IMHO is well worth it. If I need the complicated stuff doing/enabling, Geoff is the "Go to guy" for me Smile

Hi

I'm looking at this just now as well. the iid tool from gap diagnostics might be of interest. seems like it can do a bit more than the hawkeye but thats a trade off on the fact that it links to a single vin rather than a whole LR variant.

Plus both blackbox (FCR faultmate - much cheaper than an MSV2 which is not really a comparable product to the hawkeye) and gap are hinting at new capabilities/possibly products (not sure) becoming available anytime. I'm holding off right now. For a bit at least
