There won't be a fuse for the exterior temperature sensor

I think it's wired into the climate panel from memory.

Probably need to have a prod around the sensor connector (remove and refit) and see if that helps at all

SO ...
I could not locate the outside air temperature sensor
But I tested the odb socket fuse, it is ok
however my Gap IIDtool does not turn on...

More surprising even though it was still working yesterday... I no longer have air conditioning or heating......???

By chance, I plugged in my icarsoft diag tool and... it works (gapIID Tool broken?)
I basically have these codes coming back:

U0155 lost communication with instrument cluster control
U0164 Lost communication with heating ventilation and air conditioning control module

Earth trouble ?
Where to look first ?

As odd as is sounds.

Check the fog lights are working.
Check rear heated seat switches work. If u have them.
Check the 25A heated front seat fuse is ok (in fusebox by battery)

Hi Pete

May I ask a daft question plse

Could the maf sensor provide the outside temperature along with sending the same to the FBH plse as I’ve always been curious where the signal has come from or am I completely barking up the wrong tree

As always am so very grateful for knowledge when it comes to these vehicles

Many thanks

No. There is a sensor somewhere behind the grill or bumper. The climate panel reads it and sends it out on the CANBUS. (to the dash and FBH)

Thank u so much as that makes a lot of sense with pointing me in the right direction after looking on the wiring diagram of where to look

If it’s the same one Have seen a connector cable tied to the front slam panel , which I assume is the air temp sensor , have seen reports of a smog sensor reported but believe that’s only fitted on models from Japan

As always a big thks Thumbs Up

Regarding the GAP tool. Sometimes the diagnostic socket pins are too wide, and therefore the tool may not be picking connections up.

As for the climate panel. You could try checking fuse 51 behind the glovebox.
or disconnecting the battery for 30 mins to see if that helps.

Otherwise its a case of removing the climate panel and seeing if you have power there.

Pin 1 Green/purple +12v
Pin 3 black ground

There are several connectors though, so you need to work out which ones match those colours and if they have power on, that's good

You may need to take the radio out, to get the climate panel out

Thanq Pete for all the help.
I will try the solutions you mention.
unfortunately I have to wait until Saturday.

Regarding the gap tool what is surprising is that the icarsoft tool works

So…
I disconnected the battery for 24 hours, did a hard reset,
without success…
Then I checked fuse 59 in the glove box, it was blown. Nos hair conditioning and heating works, and the outside temperature is displayed on the dashboard.(Thanks for your Yelp !)

But the Gap tool still does not work while the Icarsoft tool works well

I asked Gap diagnostic who recommended an update.
but still nothing when I connect the gap tool, no light, and no connection whith the mobile device
I tried to move it in all directions in the port, but without success.

I imagine that the connections for an icarsof and a gap II tool are the same right?

It has been reported that some code readers have thicker pins than the GAPiiD and spread the contacts in the OBD port so the iiD doesn't connect properly.

Get an ODB port extension cable , they're usually pretty cheap, and see if that helps. If it too has thin pins, a blob of solder could be used to thicken them ... no risk of frying the GAP tool that way.
