Having spent some time in the US, I can assure you that the right to bear arms does not make for a safer and less violent society.
Having said that, the petty aggressive “what are you looking at” type behaviour that wasn’t uncommon to witness when I was young and out and about drinking at night, was far less prevalent. Or so it seemed to me. 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

It isn't happening in our village.
Among our c.40 houses are 50 registered firearms, apparently.

It’s all down to policing. They are concentrating too hard on upsetting peoples feelings or beliefs instead of cracking down on crime. Also, most older police are leaving the force and the young don’t stay long. It’s a terrible institution so I’ve been told by a few police friends I know. You remind me of a younger me, not much younger mind...perhaps even a little older!

On the other hand, we've now got people saying that keeping illegal immigrants in army barracks is inhumane, how does that make the soldiers, sailors and airmen feel? Their home away from home is classed as not suitable for illegals.

Watched the illegal guy giving an interview through the wire complaining about food and no internet connection, and the reporter saying compensation would be being sought !!
Well sorry, no one asked you to come here, you could have stopped in any of the European countries you traveled through, but you see the UK as a soft touch, but if you don’t like it here, **** off somewhere else.
It’s no surprise that folks want to come here if we are “soft” (hotel accommodation, benefits, etc). We should make it tough/hard so that the message that goes back is that the UK isn’t a destination you want to go to.
I caught something earlier on the news which I think said Denmark had changed its law to say asylum can only be applied for now from outside the country.

The European countries that, according to you say, allow the transit to the United Kingdom, suffer the problem anyway ... or do you think that Europe is also the cause of your immigration problems ... that I know, with your Brexit already you are totally sovereign in that matter now ... I don't know where the complaints come from, it should be a resolved matter, right? lost in translation!
