Hi All,
just purchased some brand new xenon headlight units With bulbs and power pack for my 59 plate Discovery 4 XE, fitted them to the car but the xenon lights do not come on. The LED's come on when the lights are switched on and the high beam works, nothing else. am i missing something? it thought these were plug and play, do they needed to be coded at the main dealer?

Nope - needs configuration file changing on a D4 for them to work at all. I'm not sure if a main dealer can do it but many of the site sponsors will be able to or anyone else with access to the right equipment.

I know some time ago but for those searching.
May need to be activated in the CCF file using a GAPIID tool. Change to Xenon.
Some seem to work without activating, some dont.

He certainly can; runs an update service at very reasonable rates. 2011 D4 XS : LHD
2005 D3 HSE : reluctant sale, but moved abroad. Great car.

Bet he enjoyed the trip out to Gibraltar to do yours  It can when others can't,

Almost!
He did some stuff on my D3 in Shropshire before I moved out here.
That said, if I didn’t have an IID myself, I’d be tempted to pay the plane ticket if I needed to  2011 D4 XS : LHD
2005 D3 HSE : reluctant sale, but moved abroad. Great car.
