200,000 miles and value
My D3 will in the next six or seven days god willing clock 200,000 miles .
I’ve been thinking if this will raise its value or lower it.
Getting there surely means it’s been well maintained. Psychologically it’s a big number....
My wife’s XC70 has 195,000 ish on the clock and my Alfa GTV Cup edition has 170,000 so I’m not worried about mileage so long as maintenance has been good.

I reckon a 2007 HSE with that mileage would fetch around £3500/£4000 on a good day
People are not buying as much now because of Covid and the ‘ban’. Low tax bracket seems to attract a premium.
Buyers in the know will be expecting full service, probably recent history of suspension work etc and a relatively good recent mot I’d sayMY2023 Discovery 5 R-Dynamic 3.0

It has a good history and thousands spent on it in my ownership. Not really looking to sell it as there’s not much i fancy to replace it but a D4 . Problem with the D 4 is the price differential. I can spend fourteen grand getting a 12 or 13 plate car with 120/50,000 miles on the clock and I can’t see the value in spending ten grand getting a five years younger car and a few thousand miles less. Two extra gears 300 cc capacity increase and a few BHP more- my car is mapped so not much more BHP in the new car than I have now-. Car is currently doing around 800 miles a month on my commute to work. Weather like it is I don’t know a car I’d rather be in on the motorway and Derby so the fuel isn’t a major issue.
I’m thinking 200,000 miles probably makes the car very unattractive to sell.
Perhaps I will have to keep it and see if it won’t go a few thousand more.Discovery 3 tdv6 HSE 2007

See what webuyanycar value it at.
Just checked mine 2006 140k and they say 4k value, which of course they will knock down as there is no way it is worth 4k.
Your thinking on the D4 is the same as mine, what will it do that my D3 will not?
Run her until she is no longer economical to fix.

Unfortunately the majority of the population value a vehicle on mileage and not condition.
The higher the mileage, the lower the value, even if you spend thousands on it.

Welcome to the 200,000 mile club
I’m on 202,000 and I’ve just spend a nice sum on advanced factors to service mine.
I’d like to still have mine for 250,000-300,000 and keep going if it allows me to Defender 110 2.4 TDCi Utility Station Wagon.

2006 HSe on 187k and used for everything, regular servicing and good oil, if it goes bang new engine will go in as the car is immaculate! Nothing compares until the new Defender is pure electric!

A friend is selling his 04 plate Disco with 250k on it. He's valued that quite low if anyone interested (think £1500 or under)

Remember those valuations are for a complete car. With a bit of work they could be worth 2 or 3 times that.
