2nd Row seat folding - HOW TO?
I have a disco 4 2013 and you would have thought that I would know how to fold the seats in the second row by now, but I'm being faced by a little problem that a clever person here might help me with?
I am trying to fit in a piece of furniture into the boot and need to put two out of the three second row seats (so right and centre seat) either flush to the main floor of the boot or lifted up completely.
I have managed to lift up the right hand seat, using the pull strap, so that it sits folded and vertical up against the driver's seat, but for the life of me cannot find a way to do the same with the seat in the middle. I can only fold the back over the seat, then cannot find a strap to lift it vertical. Is this not possible? I also noticed that in some videos out there you can drop all of the folded second row seats so that they are flat and level to the remainder of the boot - is this possible and if so, how!!
thanks for your help,
R.

There is a strap on each of the three seats but they sometimes get caught underneath (or have broken off).
It may be possible to use a hook type implement to pull the catch if the strap is missing... Good Luck I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

Just checked on mine, the strap should be on the offside (drivers) side of the seat, shine a torch under there and you'll see a metal loop that can be pulled to release the seat (if that's missing then you REALLY have a problem!)...I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... Brilliant, thanks for that. Couldn't believe that there wouldn't be a way to lift that seat. Will have a look in daylight tomorrow...and use a torch!

Middle seat will go flush with the rear floor, but not vertical like the outer two seats.Richard

For all three seats the procedure is first to fold down the back rest then lower the entire seat by pulling the strap underneath the seat (at the front of the seat). After this, all seats should be flush with the floor (horizontally, not vertical).
The outer seats folds up for easy access to the third row, the middle seat does not.

Thanks everyone. I can now confirm that on a 2013 MY the second row seats all drop flush to the floor, with the central seat not folding up vertical in the way that the outer seats do. The drop strap is on the leading bottom edge of the seat (but concealed by years of attrition on mine).
I know that it may have seemed obvious, and of course I am the stereotypical male who cannot read, but my confusion has been that I started from the presumption (as I'm always right) that no one would design a car where you would be unable to fold all seats up into the vertical position. What I have never realised until today is that the design is much cleverer and actually drops all the seats to be level with each other across the whole boot.....Now that is a thing of beauty and I so wished I'd realised this years ago, as I have transported stuff or not based on the "hump" of having the second row seats folded, not flat.....pfffffff.
It's the little things like this that can really make ones day.
thanks everyone!

On each of my second row seats there is a devise for aiding the 'tilt'. It consists of two pulleys with steel wire between. All three have broken wires, has anyone replaced theirs.
