Re: 6 Pot Brembo Modification.
[quote="PDC"]Hi everyone,
I know that this has been done to death on the D3, but I could find very little information on anyone making this mod on a D4.
So for all that are thinking of doing this modifcation, I have uploaded some photos and a list of all the bits I used to do the job and for all that are thinking is it worth it, “then the answer is a defendant YES”
I always thought my V8 Range Rover Sport had great brakes, but always though that the Disco brakes were always left lacking of any real feel, bite, or progression while braking……. I’m happy to say that this has all been corrected with the 6 pot Brembo’s and they now give me so much more confidence under any braking conditions.
380mm discs and dust shields from 09-13 5.0 SC RRS
6 Pot Brembo callipers from RRS 09-16
Delphi pads.
And last of all 5mm wheel spacers. I have spayed them the same colour as the discs and once in place you would not know that it was running with spacers. They just look like they are part of the disc. Just a foot note, I think that I could of gotten away with a 3mm spacer, but with the 5mm the clearance is great and 5mm is negligible. I wanted to retain my current rims as they are unique to the XXV and so had no choice other than to run with spacers.
I hope that this inspires anyone thinking of doing the job, or who is worried that the parts won't fit.
Nice - Me want!!! Last of the D4 HSE...

Probably no need, the rears will do very little of the braking effort. I suspect it is a waste of time and money to throw at a rear brake upgrade.

I’ve not seen a Brembo rear kit fitted to a LR product. My 5.0 SC has Brembo 6 pots on the front and bigger TRW on the rear (but with Brembo branded original LR discs).012MY RRS 5.0 Supercharged Autobiography (Current)

Does this upgrade require longer wheel bolts or will the OEM ones cope with the 5mm wheel spacer?

I have the Brembo 6 pot conversion and have to confirm the stopping power is significantly increased, especially when towing a trailer.
Could any one advise on a good set of brake pads as the ones currently fitted although give good bite, generate masses of brake dust on my ally wheels, I can wash the wheels go for a 30 minute run and the front wheels look as they have never been cleaned, so just looking for advice
Thanks

Presume this upgrade retains the stock caliper carrier brackets?
EDIT - never mind, just realised they don't need carriers, they are one-piece bolt on

Sorry to drag this topic back-up, but could someone confirm if the Brembo 6 pot upgrade with 380mm discs requires spacers with the Landrover 20inch Landmark wheels (black diamond turned version)?
I note some people have installed spacers as part of the upgrade whereas an owner I bumped into with the modification had not.
Thanks in advance.
Kindest,
Jonathan

Thanks for your earlier reply Disco_Mikey. And indeed, thanks to everyone who has listed part number etc.
I got my brakes installed yesterday and the difference is very noticeable.
I ended up getting EBC pads and their performance grooved and dimpled discs which were on offer.
I have used them for years on other cars and I like the fact they paint the hubs properly with high temp paint so they don't actually rust like the OEM ones do which drives me mad for what they cost. Appreciate OEM might last a bit longer but I don't do big miles so not an issue.
I got the same discs and pads for the rears which is more for the aesthetics as the fronts do all the work.
I just now need to get my upper boot basket and sliding floor and am done!
Kindest,
Jonathan
