I take it you can't fit 18" rims with this mod?--

19"
I guess your XXV has 20" wheels
anyone tried with the std 19" wheels ?( I have 25mm spacers if that helps any.)
would like to change brakes as they have never been great. It is better to have and not need it then need and not have it.

Hi everyone,
I know that this has been done to death on the D3, but I could find very little information on anyone making this mod on a D4.
So for all that are thinking of doing this modifcation, I have uploaded some photos and a list of all the bits I used to do the job and for all that are thinking is it worth it, “then the answer is a defendant YES”
I always thought my V8 Range Rover Sport had great brakes, but always though that the Disco brakes were always left lacking of any real feel, bite, or progression while braking……. I’m happy to say that this has all been corrected with the 6 pot Brembo’s and they now give me so much more confidence under any braking conditions.
380mm discs and dust shields from 09-13 5.0 SC RRS
6 Pot Brembo callipers from RRS 09-16
Delphi pads.
And last of all 5mm wheel spacers. I have spayed them the same colour as the discs and once in place you would not know that it was running with spacers. They just look like they are part of the disc. Just a foot note, I think that I could of gotten away with a 3mm spacer, but with the 5mm the clearance is great and 5mm is negligible. I wanted to retain my current rims as they are unique to the XXV and so had no choice other than to run with spacers.
I hope that this inspires anyone thinking of doing the job, or who is worried that the parts won't fit.
Where do you find the spacers?
Have you the quoted drawing?

Yep, I'm running on 20" rims and the general consensus is that you won't fit a 19" rim on with 6 Pot's. Have a look at my previous photo and will see how little space there is between the calliper and the rim and that is as stated with a 20" rim.2010 RR 5.0 Autobiography

Not sure if they're the correct ones but seem good value, although always a little worried buying '2nd' hand brake components without knowing the provenance !!!
All that being said its the 20" rims that put me off

Those are the right ones, there is only one type of 6 pot calliper that was fitted to the Sport and RR Vogue. Not the case with 4 pots though, both models were both fitted with different types of 4 pot calliper.2010 RR 5.0 Autobiography

Thanks for posting this information! Three questions:
-Does this brake swap mess with the front-to-rear brake bias? I.e. are the fronts now doing too much of the work? One way to check might be to look at the part number for the bias / proportioning valve in the brake system of the 09-13 RRS with and without Brembos - is it the same part number for all models? Does anyone have access to the parts catalogue?
-Is there a rear disc & caliper upgrade for the D4 from the 09-13 RRS V8 SC?
-Can anyone suggest a good online source for the 6 pot calipers and backing plates? I have already sourced the pads and discs at a good rate.

Hi,
Braking bias is not affected at all and I certainly haven't felt the need to up-rate the rear callipers.
I was lucky enough to find a new pair of callipers on eBay at half price. The guy bought them to go on his Vauxhall and they didn't fit. One man's loss is another man's gain........ It's just a case of being patient and devoting a fair bit of time looking on the internet, or you can just stomp up the £1200 and save the hassle...... 2010 RR 5.0 Autobiography

I fitted a new set of rear discs and pads to mine for it's MOT at the end of May. I still have the cross hatch marks on the discs (and I'm not easy on my brakes )My D3 Build Thread
