Nothing new for the moment.

A couple of weeks ago I was in croatia with the car. worked super reliable!
Not even one dash light, or beep! I already suspected that the light and the beep-thing is broken. Laughing

The pressure gauge is working pretty good. It shows that the engine has still problems to reach the pressure when it is really hot. even with the brand new FAI pump and 10W40 oil.
On idle it drops below the 0,7bar when it has more than 30°C outside.
I removed the underbody protection to get some more air to the oil pan, but it didn't change anything.

I think the oil-temp sensor is really necessary to get a good feeling for the oilpressure.
And a sligthly bigger display would be nice for readability.

But I'm missing time to work on the car/display. So many other projects to do.
And I want to finalize it bevor I make it public.

But I will keep you all updated here as soon as I have done something on it.

best regards

No problems at all Fuxl. Good to hear a good news story regarding these cars every once on a while 😂.

You may need to change to genuine Ford oil pump if you are having issues with the FAI pump. I believe Christian from LR Time had similar issue with FAI pump with not enough pressure.

I look forward to seeing how you go with a kit - I'm in no rush at the moment anyway as my car is sitting in the shed with the body separated waiting for the replacement engine to go in 😊.

Cheers

Hi,
Thats a very interresting project.
How and where did you measure the oil pressure?

Hi

The pressure sensor is installed "parallel" to the original pressure switch.
A picture is on the beginning of this thread.
I reworked it, so that it is better looking, but more or less its still the same as on the picture.

The oil-temperature measurement is as well implemented and running like a charm.
It uses the original sensor in the oilpan.

On friday I have a shoulder surgery. So I have to stop all my other projects, which are more physical, for some time, and will invest some time into this again.
I have to rework the housing. It looks ok, but mounting it with sticky-tape, was a bad idea. And I need some more room for the internals and cables. with all that added stuff it got pretty cramped up.
And the software needs some attention. I want to make it.......easier to understand.....and a little bit "sleeker". At the moment it uses almost the whole memory of the arduino.

many thanks, I keep on watching this thread.

As I understood you made a T plug in the oil sensor thread and so you got oil pressure switch and values on two separate sensors?

Oil pressure spec from the LR workshop manual -

This is the type of adaptor I bought, 1/4"NPT x 1/4" NPT with 1/8" NPT side hole.

I did have to modify it, as the diameter is too big. So I turned the lower half down. I forgot to take photos of the modified adaptor Embarassed

Then you need this pressure switch, same rating as the standard one, but shorter.
