another MTR question lol

hi guys ive been reading a few posts on here for a while i do not own a d3 ive got a FFRR that i take off road regular i need to replace the tyres and i just want your opinions on the MTR tyres as in what are they like to live with on a day to day basis i dont do much motorway driving maybe couple hundred miles a year but i want a tyre thats good off road as i live in the country and prone to flooding and bad weather are they useable every day also how bad is the road noise many thanks and look forward to your replies (ps please dont look on me as the black sheep ) Thumbs Up

Are you anywhere near Hinckley. Fairly often Andy on Service reception at Trinity would be able to find you a car on MTR's to drive around the block Thumbs Up

Or I think one of the cars at Mantec in Nuneaton may be on MTR's ??

IMHO - the noise is about 2 clicks on the stereo. My Cooper STT's are 3-4 clicks, but who cares !! "To finish first, one first has to finish ...."

im in the worcestershire area so a bit out lol what im after is improving my off road ability for my area but i still want to keep my RR civilised if you no what i mean (dont fancy 22s with rubber band bling ) prefer fit for perpose Thumbs Up

You'll notice an improvement in the feel of the road as the MTRs have a stiffer sidewall and IMHO this improves the feedback you get throiugh the steering.

I do a fair ammount of motorway miles as well as living in the coiuntry, so want something that will cope with both. MTR's do it for me everytime. for the few hundred miles of motorway travelling you do each year, I wouldn't even bother giving it a second thought. Just get some MTR's & youi'll be covered no matter what the weather Thumbs Up Bodsys Brake Bible

I run MTR's 24/7 - great tyre, good road holding (even when throwing the car about), and great off-road. Noise-wise they rumble - a very relaxing rumble too Thumbs Up Disco 5 HSE Lux

MTR's on a D3 are great all seasons

MTR's on the FFRR are very noticable so save them for off road days and run ATRs the rest

I must say that most of the complaints we get about the MT/R's are from the R/Rover drivers, and do think that some D3 drivers with MT/R's just put up with the noise, does not bother me as most have a good sound system.

Stu yep you are right


You dont hear the MTR's you feel them in the FF hence I stick to ATR's Whistle Albeit I wonder if running the MTR's on RRS rims makes a difference

Presumably you'll want to keep it on 19's?
If MTR's are a bit harsh you could consider the Scorpion ATR's
Grabber AT2's won't fit on 19's
