Well I’ve just found three small holes in the passenger footwell Center console.
I’m guessing the cable must be tucked under the carpet somewhere as there isn’t any larger holes for it to pass through
As for removing it,I’m under strict orders of the missus not to mess with it for a while 😂

It is of interest to me, as I want to fit radio(s) and the associated antennae to my D4 with minimum damage to the car. If you want to remove it, I would be happy to help and take it off your hands.

PM to follow.

I have one of these for my aerial https://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/sold-rld-cb...85721.html
No damage to the car at all and the cable just feeds through the tailgate seals. I've never had any water ingress from that either.

Would guess UHF not VHF as it looks to be fairly short. UHF 1/4 wave would be about 20cm long depending on frequency where 1/4 wave VHF high band would be about 40cm

Thanks for the suggestion. I already have two fitted and they are very good. However, the type of antenna, the co-axial cable and associated connectors I am currently using, add up to a messy and inefficient arrangement IMHO. I would prefer a tidier configuration with less RF Power losses. The antenna in the first post appears to be a professional one (probably supplied by Panorama) and would solve the problems mentioned. I was keen to, at least, have a look at it so I could identify exactly what type of fitting has been used and if it could be used on my vehicle.

However, I am grateful for your efforts to help. Thanks again.

It is difficult to clearly work out the length based on the photo supplied and you may be right. However, I am willing to compromise with you and suggest it is a Band 3 Antenna! Laughing

No problem. If circumstances change, send me a PM and I will be happy to help. BTW, if it helps with SWMBO, I am a retired radio engineer and have worked on many vehicle installations.
