I've been looking at Unique Auto Developments unit and ask the local ICE about install and he suggested Integrated Automotive as an equally good unit for JLR platform.
John Kleis? I saw they were a dealer for Unique and was going to pop in and have a look.Presumably they don't have a demo unit then?

I'm interested in getting something to allow me to do Carplay but it's a lot of money to pay out only to find there are drawbacks like it interfering with stuff that already works.
I notice on the Unique Auto Developments web page that it talks about using a Wi-Fi connection to your phone to stream music. Mine already streams quite happily via Bluetooth and I'd rather not spend a lot of money to find out that I can no longer connect to my home Wi-Fi from my driveway because the phone has now connected to a local Wi-Fi connection from the car. Ideally I'd like to have a play with one before shelling out.

Hi Chris. I ended up ordering Isudar kit. For £250 and with 99% of the functionality I thought it was worth a go. So it’s on its way. Going for self fit. Will let you know how I get on
Paul - did you install and how was it? I think it's your review on the website, something about the screensaver?
Thinking of ordering one of the Isudar units, couple of questions. Will it fir my 2016 Bosch unit Landmark? Do the steering wheel buttons work? How long did it take to install?

I had the unique unit in my 2014.
I was very pleased but yes the wifi connection can be knocked out by large overhead lines or sub stations (mine cut out same place every day!) but other than that it was very stable.
I loved the fact it kept everything oem only losing the on board Nav (which also was a plus point!! )
If you have any questions call them at unique or email them.... they are very helpful.
Don't forget... being an online/distance sale you have the right to return inside 14 days should it not be for you.....
There are so many aftermarket headhunts that are good now (I have put one in my Cayenne now the D4 is sold) and it is brilliant.....I guess it comes down to wether you want to keep the oem look or not.A mod a week until I have nothing to improve or add.

Reading this threat I understand that there are 3 solutions on the market?
unique
naviplus
Integrated?
What are the pros and cons?
On our my2013 we stream a lot of audio and it works fine. The bluetooth carkit is dodgy with cracking conversations etc. And we also use a lot of radio.
I would like to be able to listen to the radio, or stream music and have nav via carplay and/or android auto
I also would like a good bluetooth telephone conversation.
So what is the best advice and what is the approximate investment

I have the Naviplus system installed on my 2012 D4.
Connects as soon as i open the car door and the only function I lose is the factory Nav whichis no loss.
I can stil access all of the functions of the original system but by pressing the nav button I get carplay.
I generally listen to audio books whilst having the nav running alongside.
Handsfree calls hae cai=used no issues for me and the selection of apps available covers all my in car needs from audio books to online radio to nav etc.
Issues I have with the system?
The screen is rubbish and trying to swipe pages or maps is a nightmare. This is a Land Rover issue as it uses the original screen.
I have to have the volume turned right up on the motorway to be able to listen to an audio book and follow the story.
There are a lot of little boxes to hide behind the dash. I ended up putting then behind the passenger side air vent nearest the door.
Total imported cost was about £700.
There may be better systems but none of them were available in 2019.

Same here, CarPlay from Naviplus.
I know some Chinese CarPlay boxes better (one box only) than Naviplus (two boxes and lots of wires), but only they have prev/next track control. Unfortunately prev track button should not be programmed on real prev button - I use call cancel button for that. Next button works fine
So my pro/cons for naviplus:
+ track control
+ can be installed on pre 12MY and on D3
+ can be installed on Bosh head unit (from 12MY)
+ excellent support
= You can save default navi for more cost or lose it for cheaper
- external mic sucks
- two boxes and lots of wire
- prev track button not tied to prev button
Chinese:
+ only one box
= lost default navi
- only Bosh head unit (from 12MY)
- external mic sucks
- no track control (volume only)
Others:
- only Bosh head unit (from 12MY)
- no track control
- external mic sucksLR4 V8 5.0 HSE Lux

As a follow on to this thread the Naviplus unit is currently having issues with IOS 17!!
Apparently still works with a cable connection but I can’t get mine working at the moment.

I don’t have any problems with wireless connection Naviplus and iPhone 14 Pro on iOS 17.0.1

btw I fixed Bluetooth audio source (it was connecting sometimes instead of CarPlay) by Shortcuts app and automation!
Seems even latest iPhones are having issues with iOS update
BBC News wrote:
Apple has blamed a bug in its operating system and updates to apps such as Instagram for its new iPhone 15 overheating.
Since the latest model of the smartphone went on sale in September, some users have complained the devices are getting too hot to touch.
Apple said there was a bug when updating iOS 17 on the phone.
But it also claimed that changes to third party apps are "causing them to overload the system".
