Approved used warranty not transferable?

Just learnt from my dealer that if I sell then any new owner will not get the benefit of my remaining one year of the two years LR approved used warranty. Is this correct?

Page 30 of this document would seem to disagree but I don’t know if it has been updated. https://landrover-extendedwarranty-extend-...cument.pdf

Could the point be that the LT Extended Warranty van only be transferred on a private sale?

ISTR that Porsche have, or had, a similar provision.

If you buy a used Porsche from a dealer it comes with a 2 year warranty as standard Nigel and you can put this warranty on one you’ve bought privately subject to a check, a mate has just done this and they even waived the £200 fee for the check, it was about £1600 for 2 years on his GTS Cayenne.

Iv not long transfered the warranty over and yes I’m sure it has to be a private sale and within a short time of owning the car (possibly 2 weeks?)

Page 21 of my warranty handbook is a form 'Warranty transfer request' The form has space for the details of new and old owners. It states that it must be a private sale and the form needs to be sent within 7 days.
This seems clear enough but as mentioned above my dealer says its not....

Also page 10 spells it out.

The dealer says that the problem is my warranty is an extention of the new car warranty so is not transferable to a new owner...

So there must be 3 types of LR warranty -1) new car warranty, 2) extention to new car warranty 3) approved used warranty

Just looked at the validation certificate that came with the warranty handbook and it states that my product is an 'Approved warranty'. I may just email the warranty company but the dealer should know his stuff....

I wouldn't rely on the dealer word for anything especially to do with warranty. I have been "misinformed" any number of times in the past

L319 you are spot on. When pushed the expert dealer has changed the message. It is transferable if the form is filled in and received within 7 days. Crikey - I'm glad I'm so cynical otherwise I would have sold it without a years warranty
