I think you're being a bit literal re the forums purpose and content. The forum is a broad 'church' for many and the discussion is varied and diverse.
This thread, amusing and random as it is, is actually pretty much par for the course regarding anything non D3 / 4 / 5 related.

A bit late Gareth as the bizarre trolling started with the opening post.
At least his tinfoil hat mini-rant was in the correct part of the forum. As he repeatedly posted stuff that was not true and didn't change course when corrected he either expected the responses or actively sought them.
Calling the forum members a bunch of tossers suggests he was not looking to make friends or play nice.

If he had just expressed his opinion that Assange was getting a rough-ride through the justice system a debate could have been had. Everyone is entitled to an opinion and some parts of the justice system do require a judgement to be made and we all have to be open to that.
The recasting of facts and distorting of truth in an effort to beat others into submission both catalysed and justified the rough-ride Dan received. If you cast yourself 'right' and everyone else as 'wrong' then it will only end one way!
