Hi all
I have had my 2016 Land Mark for 12 months. To begin with I would always turn the Start/Stop off manually as I didnt like it. After a while the system stopped working and I had no amber light on the dash, joy...! So this has meant no turning off of the system or warning light complaining I turned it off (btw the warning lights is very bright and annoying in the dark)
Wind the clock forward and the Disco would not start last week and complained about low voltage. I fitted a new battery as it was still on the original and we're back up and running.
The problem I have now is the S/S warning light is on all the time and I cant switch it off.
Is this because the auxiliary battery needs charging/replacing? I didn't even know it had one until I read this this post.
I just want to go back to a non functioning S/S with no stupid dazzling warning light on the dash.1964 Series IIA SWB Truck Cab - gone

Your new main battery is not putting out the required minimum amps, it either needs charging or is faulty.
Usual symptoms are if the SS light is on and SS is not working it’s the small auxiliary battery that’s low on amps, if the SS is not working and the light is off it’s the main battery that’s low on amps. Of course other things can cause the SS not to work.
The D4 needs an AGM type battery and it must be kept fully charged for the SS to work, I find the SS on a D4 to be an excellent battery condition indicator, the moment mine stops working I put the Ctec on over night. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

I'd been puzzling why the S/S would generally only work at the first opportunity after setting off on a journey. After it triggered once, it wouldn't trigger again in the same journey.
Checked the Aux battery & it showed low on amps. replaced it & all seems good again.

Does anyone know how to identify the date marks on the battery? I'm sure the aux battery was last changed in July 2020 but can't see any marks that would concur with this date

+1 on exactly this.
S/S and main battery are heavily linked and S/S issues indicate both need checking.Jim
