Hi Tim, thanks for your comments, it's (was) a 60 amp hour deep cycle, has had a 10 amp Chescold load on it, may have fully discharged on occasions. (Use Engels now). Interesting comment on charge dropping after motor running a bit, will check. Either way, old aux battery consigned to lead recycling. Think I will replace with normal battery.

overcharging

Hi all,
I have a National Lunar control system and have just recently replaced my auxiliary battery so don't think the battery is faulty. Mine is charging at 14.9 v which concerns me regarding the life span of the new battery and possibly the main battery which seems to be running low. i agree the charge rate does fluctuate and is normally high at the beginning especially when the main battery is a bit low, was down to 11,7v today. any comments?

Hi Noel, where are you getting your voltage reading from because 11.7v is way to low if the motor is running!

Hi, the 11.7v was before start up there after 14.9v both measure on the battery terminals.
