Its Belt time

Hi guys. My 2013 Disco 4 is almost 8 years old now. It only has 64k miles on it and I've had it from new. As with many, it has not racked up that many miles in the last 18 months or so, but the timing belt etc are still original. How much should I expect to pay to have both the pump and timing belts done. And, what else should be done at the same time beyond a service?

Car is pre-face lift with no rear air-con or stop-start.

So I just had mine done on my 2014.

By the letter of the LR law you are a year late with the replacement as it should be done on the 7 year service.

I looked at prices in independents and locally and they were actually higher than the main dealer!

I paid 1200 quid for the full 7 year service and both belts. I asked specifically if the pumps or anything else related should be replaced whilst they were in there but they insisted that it wasn't required. Since 2010 apparently the pumps were updated and the risks of failure are all 2010 and before.

I was surprised as I fully expected them to add in a couple of things.

It was still 9 hours and they needed the car for 2 days.
A mod a week until I have nothing to improve or add.

I had my 2013 done at my independent in sussex in April. Cost £1500 but that did include belts, full service, MOT & front brake discs & pads.

Thanks both. An indie has quoted, over the phone, £850 for both belts. The service would be on top.

They broke that down to 350 for the pump belt and £550 for the timing belt, if done independantly.

Due to lack of use, there was no seven year service. So this it it basically.

I’ll check with another indie. Not too keen on the main dealer doing it. Every time they’ve had it, they screwed something up!

I booked mine in to be done yesterday. It doesn't need doing for a while but I know they get busy and I will need a courtesy car. They say it will be the first EU6 engine belt service they have done (mine is a June 2015).
Hoping any differences to the pre EU6 models will be insignificant for swapping the belts.

EU6 is different front belt kit and aux belt. Same procedure though. Just incase they order the usual belt kit Thumbs Up

Same rear belt kit, but with an extra coolant pipe and electrical connector to undo, and there's a bit less access as they changed the AC pipes Rolling Eyes
