AFAIK, Bio ethanol is a petrol substitute, so putting it in your diesel..not a good idea. Bio diesel is widely available, this is made from recycled veg oil from chip shops etc. According to the D4 manual you can use upto 5% bio diesel mixed with "Regular" diesel.

You need to be aware of adding 5% bio to diesel.
As I believe refineries can do this at source.
So you don't want to add 5% bio, as the diesel you are buying may already contain this 5% ...... always on the road less travelled 🚧

Closer then most, Ron, and way ahead of Land Rover who still think it is below 4%. A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. Stay Alive - KEEP AWAY FROM PEOPLE.

Morrisons diesel already contains 5% chip fat.
Bio Eth is a petrol substitute, but even then the cars have to be designed to run on it.
Am always surprised lpg isnt much more popular than it is.

Spoke to Shell customer services & all diesel sold by shell in europe has to have min 5% bio diesel by law, soon to rise to 7% as already mentioned. Strangely the regular unleaded contains typically NO ethanol whereas the sell a kidney/litre V-Power has typical 5% ethanol. It looks like that they are using cheap ethanol to increase the octane rating & charging handsomly for the privelige. You can't fault 'em for selling nowt for summat
