Blocked DPF
Had a customers car in with Restricted Performance, and a DPF Pressure Differential fault
Took it out on the road, and attempted a Regen, to clear it all out. Failed a few times, so turned round to head home. On the way back, it lost all power, and cut out. Would restart every time, and run for 3-4 seconds, and cut out, making some horrible noises
Released the clamp for the DPF to see if the engine would run with the exhaust disconnected, of which it did just fine
So, DPF was removed and checked...
IT should look like this:

In actual fact, it looked like this:

Found a faulty MAF sensor, hence why it was not regenerating and burning the carp out.
Priced up a new DPF. Knew it wouldnt be cheap but I wasn't quite prepared for the £2,100 retail price
So, good 2 hours were spent washing it out with a pressure washer, and had it mostly clean. Car now starts and runs, and a new MAF on order to allow it to regenerate on its ownMy D3 Build Thread

That can be done, but a missing DPF is now an MOT fail. And at that sort of price, its an expensive gamble that the tester won't pick up on it...My D3 Build Thread
Glad my D4 has an early 2010 "SDV6 without DPF" engine! Unfortunately SWMBOs MY16 had a DPF LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

New rear diff going in when I get a free day.
That leaves the rear driveshafts, and a N/S/F hub bearing as the original mechanical parts My D3 Build Thread

We used to have to clean out the exhaust filters on the trucks every mot with the steam cleaner, a few companies reckoned they needed professional cleaning and sent them away, what they did to them I dont know, but Im sure dpf cleaning will be available if you contact them.
Think it was Dinex?
wouldn't use of 2-stroke oil or a diesel cleaner like Wynns help to clear out the DPF?

Theres quite a few products that claim to clean dpfs, whether they work or not I havent a clue.
Thing is sooner or later we will all have to get to grips with the tech as all the D3s will end up as cheap off roaders!

DPF FULL 100% HELP
I've just come back from the dealer, my DPF displayed a full see dealer warning during a service. They tried to regenerate it will not regenerate.
Has anyone got some tips to try?
I'm in the Falklands so cant pop down and have it removed and the ECU re-programmed unfortunately.
I'm hoping its not a replacement job.....

They can be cleaned and reinstalled if they are in ok shape. But I am not sure how a DPF-equipped vehicle can be run in the Falklands though, as the roads are just not up to the standard needed to keep them healthy.
