hi can anyone tell me how much it costs to fit a d3 bluetooth phone kit. ? i have the kit i just need it fitting, or if its easy i will have a go. also will it work with iphone 4 ?

i have not recieved it yet but i think it only comes with black box cables and buttons.

There's your first problem then ... They don't make the Bluetooth modules any more
If you do manage to find one ... Chances are the other black box will be useless .. There was a recall on them , due to some issues ( and you have one of the first kits )
Fitting wise ... All the radio , heating , ciggy lighter , switch pack ... Then the air con ducts have to come out ....oh and the centre consul .
All for somethings that's pretty useless ... Very basic system
You can fit a factory fit system in a fraction of the time , with much better functionality
If you send me a pm with an email , I will forward you the aftermarket kit fitting instructions for you to look at G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Factory fit kit ... Much easier to fit .. Latest Bluetooth modules .. Fully integrates with the car
That vub kit on ebay does not come with a Bluetooth module ... They never did . The kit is only any good for the steering wheel switch ...and only if you have an early disco due to the colour differences
There was an newer version of the kit which had the updated control module ... But even that's a few years old now G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

can one buy the factory fit kit? is it the one with PTI? i have a aftermarket one installled. If i were to get the factory fit one, is it just a matter of swapping the module is there more wiring required?

you cant buy the factory fit (PTI ) kit ...you have to get the indivdual parts that you need .
You would need to remove all the wiring from the aftermarket kit as stops some of the pti kit working .
You can leave the phone buttons in .
You would need a module
some most cable
some power for the module .
If you dont already have voice control then you would need a mic and a voice control button ( although you can do without voice control if you want )
Apart from fitting the most cable in ( i have some plug and play ones ) and a bit of power for the module ..everything else is there.
You would need to get it all enabled though ..im sure Baben can help you out with this G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Wiggs, sounds just like what i am after. I have an early 2005 D3 HSE, it has voice, has the telephone button on the centre console, but no blueteeth. Do you have a simple list of part numbers and an idea of cost for me to make this change?
