Assistance required in OZ |
|
Hi Wiggs,
Can you also please send me the list of parts I will need, I have an MY09 SE with Harmon Kardon speakers and the phone capable radio unit. I have bought a genuine LR screen to go in the space above the radio, that is yet to be installed, so any advice on what parts etc will be needed for that would be greatly appreciated. Also if you don't mind the price to supply and send to Australia. I do like the Aussie Dollar being strong at the moment.
Thanks in advance

Bluetooth Assistance in Oz |
|
Hi Dom,
I also have a MY09 D3 SE and have been wondering how to fit Bluetooth. Could you advise how you got the screen for the centre of the dash. Are you going to use it for Sat Nav as well?
It sounds as though you have researched this fairly well. Could you advise what's involved?
How did you go for the parts? Are you going to install this yourself?
Cheers
Andrew

Hi Wiggs, not wishing this to become a 'me too' thread, but could you possibly let me know what would be needed to add bluetooth to my 2005 D3 HSE. it already has the voice activation switch (and mic) on the left of the steering wheel and the phone button on the center consul, would just adding the bluetooth module work (by using the phone switch) or do I need to add the steering wheel switches/cabling etc... (I don't fancy chancing removal of the airbag). Failing this I may just stick with my bluetooth earpiece but having it incorporated into the vehicle would be nice.
Thanks

You need a Bluetooth module . You also need to connect it into the most system ( I have some plug and play leads for this )
Also connect power and ground to the module .
Too be honest I have never tried without the phone steering wheel buttons ... But can't see why it wouldn't work ....although it's very easy to take off the airbag
It needs to be enabled to make it work G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Hi Wiggs,
Have been following this thread with great interest. I was reading your post where you installed the D4 bluetooth module and you showed a picture of the drivers centre display with the phone call info.
My question is - does this apply to all D3's? My Disco is a 09MY model.
Another question which I haven't been able to find an answer to yet without removing the steering wheel air bag is - is the wiring preinstalled for the phone steering wheel switches and when you install the switches does the rear moulding have to be replaced as well?
Look forward to your reply.
Cheers

It applies to all D3's but you might find like I did that there is a loom behind the passenger footwell panel. All the wiring is there ready to have the connectors plugged into.
With the rear moulding you will have to cut out an area for the switch unit to seat into, the plastic cuts easily enough with a Stanley knife.
