Boot won't open after passenger seat removed and replaced. |
|
OK so I know of the issue with the boot latch cable becoming worn out and the boot not opening / unlatching, however mine started to do this when I had to remove the front seat following some water ingress in passenger footwell (another saga).
So everything went back fine although I am concerned I may have pinched a cable or not seated a connector that I may have missed in the reinstallation.
Anyone know if the boot latch electrical cables requires any connection to any of the electronics under the passenger seat?
When I hit the boot release button on the boot door I do not hear any latch activating at all I hear the switch click and that's it - just seems dead as ...
Any help appreciated.

Does it open if you use the button on the key or dash? Mark

Nope ... but there is another issue that I just discovered :-
The key fob will occasionally not lock the doors and a beep beep is heard. I think this is to indicate there is an open door / bonnet / boot on the car. I cycle it a few times / wait a few minutes and car closes.
I seem to recall there was an open boot warning that came up on the dash but has since gone away.
A bit baffled. Is there a way to reset the latch electronics?

Sorted.
For future reference there is a female grey plug towards the passenger side door located onto the side of the ally frame that supports the other electric gubbins under the passenger seat (think may be a black/purple wire and a black). This connects to another male plug whose wire appears to come from the same area as the female plug. The plug just seems to be located here for some reason.
Sadly, I missed connecting these two up with the male plug wedged under the carpet.
Car locks fine and boot opens fine too.
We can all resume regular viewing now!
