Hey Deon, you have to be the unluckiest D3 owner that I know . Most of the guys have trouble-free motoring.
What will you be driving in future - your Defender?

Problem is that not everyone, unfortunately, is honest when it comes to the poll. How often have I seen members D3 at different LR dealers or when chatting and when questioned the answer is almost invariably "oh, had to get EPB fixed, had upper arm bushes replaced or this and that - did I not tell you ??
The only real poll will be when you get everyone's VIN number and run a print out on the history of the vehicle ......... will be a lot of paper Erstwhile - D3 S '07. Dual battery system. Upgraded tow hitch. Mantec skid plate. Frontrunner rr. Tmax double headed built in compressor

Than goodness I still have the Defender, as I need to tow a heavy trailer down to the Cape next week and beginning of August Im doing the Wilderness Safari's Tour de Tuli mountain bike support. D3 is still sitting with LR Sandton with no news of the warranty claim
I really do need a bakkie - that's why I've been eying the Amarok - but then it is TWO F_cking turbos to worry about Erstwhile - D3 S '07. Dual battery system. Upgraded tow hitch. Mantec skid plate. Frontrunner rr. Tmax double headed built in compressor

Wouldnt it be a bit immoral to sell a problem vehicle to an unsuspecting buyer?

According to Land Rover Sandton (an official, accredited dealership for LRSA) there is nothing wrong with this vehicle - so who am I to argue Erstwhile - D3 S '07. Dual battery system. Upgraded tow hitch. Mantec skid plate. Frontrunner rr. Tmax double headed built in compressor

After waiting a week - LR has now approved something called a "goodwill warranty claim". They pay for two thirds of the total cost and I have to fork out the rest - sounds like +- R12 000.

There by the grace of God go I .......... |

Nearly 3 years ago I bought a petrol D3 because I wasn't prepared to pay USD9,000 more
for the diesel ( The tax rate is price dependent here , and the diesel puts it in the 53% bracket )
It is only by TOTAL chance that I've avoided the huge problem that the diesel V6 engine can be.
Even so , I've just purchased a 36 month extention warranty; there's lots of ZF, diffs and suspension etc
to still go wrong.
After years on this Forum reading the angst of owners , I can completly empathise with you all.
Are you lovin' that V eight Heine ?

Hi guys..
Quote:It is only by TOTAL chance that I've avoided the huge problem that the diesel V6 engine can be.
what huge problem are we talking about. Ive had a TDV6 for 4 years now and done 120,000 miles (190,000 KM)on and offroad and havnt had any problems with the engine. the biggest costs have been rear suspension bushes replacement and wheels bearings. Duncan
