Would be handy those that have had failures to look to see which part number range you fall into, then we will have a better idea of who has to worry!
I think it's important to find out which chassis range/part numbers are failing, so wondered if you want to add the chassis ranges above to the survey as well as the model years

Not sure I can combine the datasets required into one poll Steve ...we may have to do a seperate poll for that. I would suggest we collate the model year info from the existing poll, then when we know if there is a definite trend, we can target the part numbers involved.
I don't think we are going to get high numbers polling here! Whilst its a worrying and a hot topic on the forum, there are actually not that many failures.

Believe DG was correct, my first D3 was a 54 plate - not sure about a 04 plate but seem to remember they might have been available for journalists prior to launch.

There's an 04 plater in Inverness, well there was a while ago, but I think the MY number started at 05 then. Bit of back to the future.

There's an 04 plate round my manor too. Its still known as 05 model year though. I had a Nov 04 (54) and it was defo an 05 spec.

Hi, there is the same case in Russia with SALLAAA148A461587. It has been reported in LR-club Russia pages. The car was about 140 000 km mileage. The belt was not changed due to mileage. The car was served with all LR recommendations. It happened in Finland. Our club mate from Moscow was in Finland on vacation with his family.
Finish dealer just checked that the belt was broken. Owner decided to do such repairing at home. Than the car was delivered to Saint Pet. Still in repairing there. Both headers and oil pump to be replaced. The first version was that the tensioner was overtightened. Belt condition was Ok. And also the piece of engine's oil pump has been broken. But when I knew your cases I decided to report the case there.
PS. The photo demonstrates how the car has been delivered to the Russian border. At the border it was pick-uped by the Russian track to Saint Petersburg. Unfortunately there is no photos of damage. As the owner is in Moscow now.
