Does a camping flue pipe have to go straight up?
Daft Q probably, but working out how best to get the flue out the Oztent, I'm getting a flashing kit and now looking at an offsrt flue pipe, but once the flue is out side the tent, does it then have to go straight up?
I was thinking of adding the offset fairly high inside the tent then simply going outside at a 30 degree angle, but then not straightening the flue outside, so contining at an angle.....trying to save cost by not getting two offset pipes
Hope that made sense?Iggy/Ieuan

Camping fires aren't covered by building regs, so you can do whatever you wish. However, just consider that if the pipe isn't higher than your tent (or your close neighbours) then you could get fumes and carbon monoxide back into the tent. Best to have two angles to straighten it back up. Total no more than 90degrees. So 2
X 30
Degrees would be fine.Bodsys Brake Bible

Got mine coming out the side door. Made the mistake of getting a "straight" flashing thingie, should have gotten a 45 degrees one, but can live with it.

Thanks both
I have enough flue to take it high, but feels like I need to get two pieces of the offset pipe then as the angle will just put too much strain on things Iggy/Ieuan

I got a piece of flu from Mr H when I bought the deluxe side and front for my RV. I will photograph it when I get a min and see if you need it as i don,t The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything;

Just had my side panel redone as Mr H had a flu going though it. They have done a pretty good job

Do you mean two offsets, one to go out 'away' from the stove and then, once outside, one to bring it back 'towards' the stove again? If so, you don't need that. Even under its own weight, the stove will sit in place with the flue offset half way up, but for security I use some long tent pegs to peg the front leg of the frontier stove into the ground so I know it can't tip back.
If you mean something else, I'm sorry I can't visualise it D4 XS, gone, much loved, never forgotten

Iggy i would mimik Dels set up
Having the flue coming out anything other than vertical is gonna create problems
-wind blowing fumes backwards
-rain ingress
-aore heads for up camping colleagues, which will mean your stove ends up on its side in your oztent!
Worth the extra cost of the extra elbow pipe buddy ....................................................................................................

To be clear, when I am taking about the offset flue I am thinking about one of these:

James & Lee,
Yes that's what I mean when I say offset pipe
The only issue I have is the Wildo stove has a 3" diameter flue, so looking to get some of mine 'shaped' to look the same and have the same effect (Out at an angle and then straight up).
What's the diameter of the Frontier one?
EDIT: Dell do you have an offset/Elbow section, or do you go straight up and out the side?Iggy/Ieuan

What I use.
You can of course just go straight up but the bit you cut a hole in is part of the tent, not a side panel. Would be nervious about that and would make packing away a lot more difficult.

Seeing its you fella I will go down to my lock up in the morning and photograph it. I will post it in the morning The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything;

Iggy, it's the same shape as pictured in the link from James W and fits the Frontier Stove like DSL, Dunc, me and many others have. I got it from APB Trading, but no longer need it since getting the camping trailer & tent
Edit: infact it's exactly the same as in the picture as thats from APB Trading LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.
